Recertification of TightGate-Pro (CC) 2.0 according to Common Criteria EAL3+ confirms consistently high level of security
Berlin, March 2, 2026 – m-privacy GmbH announces the successful recertification of its product TightGate-Pro (CC) 2.0 in accordance with the Common Criteria (CC) for the security of information technology systems. The certification was carried out in accordance with CC v3.1 Revision 5 with the evaluation level EAL3+ by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The assessment is based on the protection profile BSI-CC-PP-0040-2008 Remote-Controlled Browser Systems (ReCoBS).
The recertification was issued under certificate no. BSI-DSZ-CC-1240-2026.
The recertification confirms that TightGate-Pro (CC) 2.0 continues to meet the high security and trustworthiness requirements that are particularly necessary for use in government agencies, critical infrastructures (KRITIS), industry, and healthcare. The testing and evaluation aims to effectively minimize risks from Internet attacks, even in a dynamically changing threat environment.
TightGate-Pro is a Remote-Controlled Browser System (ReCoBS) that strictly separates access to web content from the internal IT system. Potentially harmful content is processed in a controlled environment, preventing attacks via the web browser. In this way, the system contributes significantly to reducing the attack surface and supports organizations in securing their IT security architectures in the long term.
The current recertification follows on from the product’s long-standing security assessment. TightGate-Pro (CC) 1.4 was already certified by the BSI in 2015. Following the regular expiry of the formal certification in 2020, the recertification now confirms the continuity of the security architecture and the consistent further development of the product.
Against the backdrop of a changing geopolitical situation and increasing cyber threats, the reliability of tested and trustworthy security solutions is becoming increasingly important. The recertification underlines m-privacy GmbH’s commitment to providing high-level IT security “Made in Germany” and ensuring long-term planning security for security-critical applications.
m-privacy GmbH will continue to base the further development of TightGate-Pro on recognized security standards in order to permanently meet the increasing requirements for the protection of sensitive IT infrastructures.
TightGate-Pro (CC) 2.0 is the certified version of TightGate-Pro, which has proven itself in use by many of our customers and which defends against attacks via the web browser and literally “keeps them away.” With recertification according to Common Criteria, we emphasize that both our product and m-privacy GmbH continue to stand for the highest security standards.

TightGate‑Pro – secure surfing à la ReCoBS:
At the heart of our products is TightGate‑Pro, a Remote‑Controlled Browser System (ReCoBS). This runs the web browser on a hardened server outside the internal network, while the image and audio content is transmitted to the workstation in encrypted form. This preventive security architecture effectively prevents cyberattacks and data leaks via the browser.
